Friday Update 10/24/14

Hi! This is Hannah and Will! Here is our Friday Update about what we did this week:

Hannah: On Monday we used chromebooks with the Kinder buddies.
We showed the kindergarteners how to type and they wrote their cute
little stories. Then we read them picture books! ;-)

Will: So at star academy we have kind kids club or KKC so kid president declared it is socktober. (Here is a link to the Socktober website.) We are having a warm things drive to help the homeless.

We did sidewalk chalk where the parents pick us up at we had to write kind things like have a good day or you’re awesome and we are doing random acts of kindness.
Mrs. Hines had us write with sidewalk chalk, some kinds messages!

Will: Author Jenny Lundquist came to our 5th grade class and talked about her books Seeing Cinderella, Plastic Polly, Princess With The Opal Mask, and The Opal Crown.
She talk to us also about being a writer and how long it takes to write a book.

Hannah: We had girls lunch with Mrs. Hines and Mrs. Curtis. They talked about friendship and thinking before you speak, and things that friends do, that may hurt, and how to avoid it. Also, we talked about sincere apologies, and what they can do.

They had us watch a video about kindness and how words can hurt.

So then we picked a partner and wrote a nice adjective about them.
(artistic beautiful: above and kind, witty and creative on the bottom)

Everybody had good stuff to say.

We get out early every day next week!
Anyways, don’t forget spirit week is next week! It is going to be RAD!

:-)

  1. This is the first time I have read your weekly update. I worked with Mrs. Rohrbacker at Fenton Primary Center. I enjoyed reading about all the exciting learning that you are doing. I especially liked the chalk art and the fact that you got to have an author speak right in your classroom. Your school sounds awesome. I look forward to reading more of your updates in the future.
